The LM5K is run in honor of the spirit of compassion & community that Lee embodied. Our 2019 LM5K will benefit 2 families who have lost loved ones and are faced with the challenges of grieving their losses while moving forward as single parent households. The McAdoo/Sawyer Family of Cambridge, MA and the Barger Family of Mashpee, MA will be joint recipients from this year’s event.
This annual 5k run/walk has generated support for both the Lee Ann Mannillo Foundation. Thanks to the success of this event we have distributed close to $25,000 to support families in need directly through our foundation’s grants and gone even further through resources provided by the CCCD Lee Ann Mannillo Sunshine Fund.
The Lee Ann Mannillo Foundation is a charity dedicated to supporting families who have experienced a tragic loss. The Foundation was formed after the unexpected and devastating loss of Lee Ann Mannillo mere hours after her twin sons were born in May 2014.
This year we’re aiming to exceed last year’s contributions to benefit families and children in our region. As always, this will be a family-friendly race. The race will be held on Sunday May 19th and the kick off and closing will be celebratory and supportive of all the runners and their families.
